Optus joins rawmindcoach.com as a Foundation Partner

Employees of Optus will be among the first to gain access to a new e-learning program created by rawmindcoach.com. The RAW Mind Coach program aims to build psychological resilience and equip workers with a range of valuable new skills.

In becoming a Foundation Partner of rawmindcoach.com Optus is taking a leading role in building better workplace mental health. Proactive and preventative in nature, RAW Mind Coach utilises mindfulness and a range of evidence based therapies which can help workers deal more effectively with difficult thoughts, uncomfortable emotions and stressful situations.
The RAW Mind Coach program is set for launch in October. It will be available on computer, tablet or smartphone, providing the anytime, anywhere convenience expected by a highly connected workforce. The program will support Optus employees across a wide variety of roles, including call centre staff, retail workers and those based in Optus’ main Macquarie Park campus.

As well as supporting their employees, Optus is supporting innovation and important translational research. RAW Mind Coach has been created following a pilot program which was developed for Fire & Rescue NSW and is currently part of a randomised control trial.  Psychologist Sadhbh Joyce and Associate Professor Samuel Harvey of the UNSW Workplace Mental Health Team have set about shaping this research into a product capable of making a real difference to workers across Australia.

“The last thing I wanted was to produce research which gathers dust” says Joyce. “I am excited to be able to create a program which can directly impact lives and I am delighted Optus have chosen to support it.”

rawmindcoach.com hopes to play a significant role in tackling a multi-billion dollar issue, by providing organisations across all industries with a simple, accessible and affordable way to boost psychological resilience and improve the mental well-being of their employees. rawmindcoach.com has the backing of UNSW Innovations and is also currently working alongside NSW Ambulance and the Black Dog Institute.
